The energy is transported through an air line of electric lines, located above the Haul Road, in the areas where the application is technical and economically feasible. The truck connects to the lines using an articulated pantograph.
This technology is available in Hitachi for more than a decade, it has been in fact implemented in 100% of the truck portfolio. Electric propulsion is undoubtedly an advantage in this option.
