During the 32nd Mining Convention Perumin 2015, at the stand of Zamine Servicie Peru SAC, the protocolar delivery of the new drill machine that Zamine has sold to the national company Cementos Yura, which is part of the Gloria Group, was carried out. This is the FURUKAWA DTH drilling machine model DCR 20.
Raúl Bustamante, Manager of Raw Materials of Cementos Yura, said that they decided to purchase this new equipment because they previously acquired equipment from the same brand Furukawa. “We are very confident that it is a 100% Japanese manufacturing machine, which has a good representative in Peru such as Zamine, which provides us with a good support service. That helped us make the decision to acquire a new equipment, a production drill machine that we know it will satisfy all our requirements to meet the production goals in our company”, he said.
Bustamante said that the Furukawa DTH DCR20 drilling machine will be put into operation at the Cementos Yura factory, in the quarry of Limestone, for our production. “We are thinking about drilling holes for banks of 10 meters and 5 inches of drilling diameter,” he said. With the FURUKAWA brand, we have had good results. “We want to continue with this Japanese technology because of the confidence it gives us to achieve productivity in our operation. We hope to continue well as until now with the brand. We are satisfied with the equipment that we previously acquired and that is why we have acquired a larger equipment to see how we are doing”, he concluded.
For his part, José Luis Alvares de Soto, President of Furukawa Rock Drill for Latin America, highlighted the main features of the hydraulic drill DTH DCR20 which allows drilling diameters of up to six and a half inches. He added that the basic design concept of Furukawa, is to manufacture a machine that is reliable, robust, that gives good productivity and that is easy to operate and maintain. “Our machines are manufactured 100% in Japan in our own factories. We do not have subcontracting or factories in other countries”, he said.
He highlighted that the Japanese company Furukawa has more than 135 years of experience and that for eight years it has had a formal presence in the Latin American market through FDR Latin America, located in Panama, where the distributors of the region are supported.
